Ayodhya Tours & Day Trips

Private cars, local guides and ready-made itineraries from Lucknow, Varanasi and Delhi.

Darshan at the Ram Mandir is free and nobody can sell it. What a tour does give you is the hard part: a comfortable car for the long road from Lucknow or Varanasi, a driver who knows where vehicles may and may not go, and a guide who can order the day so that you see Hanuman Garhi, the Ram Mandir, Kanak Bhawan and the Saryu ghats without doubling back.

Every product below is a real, current GetYourGuide listing for Ayodhya. A few listings mention “skip the line” — the temple’s own queue and security checks apply to everyone, so read each listing carefully and do not expect to bypass them. Day trips from Lucknow

Lucknow is the nearest big city, about 135 km and roughly two and a half to three hours each way. These private trips leave early and return the same evening.

Day trips from Varanasi

A long day — allow four to five hours on the road each way — but a popular way to add Ayodhya to a stay in Kashi.

A full day or more in Ayodhya itself

Already in Ayodhya? A guided visit covers the main temples and ends with the evening aarti at the Saryu.

From Delhi and longer journeys

Two to five days with transport and hotels arranged, some combining Ayodhya with Prayagraj and Varanasi.

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Do these tours include a darshan ticket?

There is no darshan ticket to include — entry to the Ram Mandir is free. Tours provide transport and usually a guide. Any pass issued by the temple trust is free and tied to your own ID; check each listing for exactly what the operator arranges.

Will the guide come inside the temple with me?

Guides normally accompany you to the security area and explain the visit, but practice varies and rules inside the complex are set by the trust. Phones and bags must be left in lockers in any case.

Is a day trip from Lucknow enough?

Yes, for the main sights. Expect five to six hours on the road in total and around five hours in Ayodhya. If you want the dawn or late-evening atmosphere, stay a night.

What is usually included in the price?

Typically an air-conditioned car with driver, fuel, tolls and parking, and a guide where stated. Meals, boat rides and offerings are often extra — each listing spells out what is included.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Most listings offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and many let you reserve now and pay later. The exact terms are shown on each tour page before you confirm.
